New Braunfels Couple Files Lawsuit Against Maker of Knee Implants
Feb 16, 2004 | www.bizjournals.com A New Braunfels couple has filed a claim against Memphis-based medical products company Smith & Nephew Inc. alleging that the company's recalled knee implants caused further damage."This lawsuit arose from defects related to the knee implants that Smith & Nephew recalled in September 2003 after the 'cementless' versions of its Oxinium Genesis II and Profix II implants in the United States failed to bond properly, resulting a high failure rate," says the lead attorney representing the New Braunfels couple in their claim.
"Patients who received the defective knees may require revision surgery and face added risks of re-infection, further joint and muscular damage and painful rehabilitation," the attorney adds.
