Cambridge Firm Settles Age Discrimination Case

Oct 13, 2004 | AP

A manufacturing company in Cambridge has settled an age discrimination lawsuit.

According to the state Human Relations Commission, Hi-Tech Plastics agreed to pay more $52,500 in lost wages to a former employee.

The 51-year-old man was employed as a shift supervisor and had received favorable reviews. Soon after he was told his job was being eliminated, he saw it advertised in a newspaper.

Hi-Tech settled a similar case two years ago for $13,800.

In addition to paying lost wages, Hi-Tech developed a company policy to prevent discrimination.
