Clothing Maker Recalls 37,000 Girls Coats

Mar 20, 2003 | AP

A New York City clothing company is recalling about 37,000 girls hooded jackets with a decorative flower and snap that can break off, posing a choking hazard to young children.

S. Rothschild & Co. has received two reports of the rubber flower, which is attached to the snap, coming off the jacket, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday. The snaps themselves also came off in subsequent testing, the company reported.

The recalled jackets are blue, lilac, pink, raspberry and magenta, with labels including the words "Little Impressions," "Rothschild," "Izzi's Kids" or "Clockwise." Major retail stores nationwide sold the jackets from May 2002 to December 2002 for about $25 to $45.
