Company Recalls Bicycle Seat PostsJul 24, 2002 | AP A Fletcher, N.C., company is recalling about 7,700 bicycle seat posts because the cradle for the seat can break, putting riders at risk of injury.
Cane Creek Cycling Components and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Wednesday that the company had received 18 reports of cradles breaking, but knew of no injuries.
The THUDBUSTER Suspension Seat Posts were sold in bike shops nationwide from November 2000 through June 2002. They are black and silver with "Cane Creek" and "Thudbuster" printed on them.
They have serial numbers from 10894 through 18710, which are printed near the bottom of the post.
