Company Recalls Kitchen Drip PansJul 9, 2002 | AP
A Virginia company is recalling about 294,000 drip pans used under the burners of kitchen ranges because the pans can catch fire.
Dollar Tree Stores Inc., of Chesapeake, has received seven reports of the drip pans catching fire, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday. No injuries have been reported.
The recalled black drip pans were sold in various sizes, ranging from 6 inches to 9 inches in diameter. The SKU number 845289 is either on the pan or on a cardboard insert in the package.
Dollar Tree Stores sold these drip pans from April 2002 to May 2002 for about $1.
The government said consumers should stop using the drip pans and return them to the store where purchased for a refund.
