Students Were Injured When The Two School Buses Collided
Between 40 and 60 students were injured when the two school buses in which they were riding collided on the Palisades Interstate Parkway near New City, New York on Monday afternoon.
Students were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, NBC News reports. State police say one bus rear-ended the other as they were exiting Palisades Parkway at Exit 11 in New City at about 2 p.m. on Monday. The buses were headed from Woodmont Day Camp to Northern Valley Regional High School in Demarest, New Jersey.
Traffic Helicopter Showed Emergency Vehicles At The Crash Site
Traffic helicopter footage from NBC 4 New York showed several emergency vehicles at the crash site and paramedics treating people at the scene. The crash did not block lanes on the highway. The buses were sitting on the highway exit ramp.
NBC News reports that authorities are investigating the crash.
