Oxycontin Stolen From Logansport PharmacyMay 23, 2002 | WRTV TheIndyChannel.com
Logansport police are hoping someone can help them identify a suspect who stole Oxycontin with a street value of $36,000 from a local Walgreens.
Surveillance cameras recorded his image as he demanded the pills and flashed a silver handgun.
The suspect in Tuesday's robbery did not wear a mask, but wore a baseball cap over his reddish, blonde hair, authorities said. He also had poor teeth.
Five employees and more than a dozen customers were in the store at the time of the holdup.
Investigators said the suspect fled out the back door after receiving hundreds of the pills, which are used to alleviate pain from cancer.
Dr. Duffy Murphy said those who abuse the drug often crush the pills so that they get a more immediate euphoria.
