Rossignol Recalls Cross-Country Boots for Fall Hazard

Jul 15, 2009 | Parker Waichman LLP

Rossignol Ski Company of Park City, Utah, has recalled about 3,000 pairs of Rossignol Cross-Country Boots in the United States and 1,000 pairs in Canada, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada, just announced.

The Rossignol Cross-Country Boot recall was implemented because the boot’s sole could separate from the upper boot during use, posing a fall hazard to consumers.

This recall involves Rossignol Cross-Country Boots with model X-IUM World Cup Skate, X-IUM World Cup Classic, X-IUM World Cup Pursuit, X-11 Skate, and X-IUM J Skate. The model name is printed on the upper part of the boot. Boots included in this recall have a five- or six-digit lot number stamped on the right boot under the boot’s removable insole.

The recalled Rossignol Cross-Country Boots, which were manufactured in Romania, were sold by specialty outdoor retailers nationwide and retailed for between $140 and $400 (U.S.) and for between $200 and $500 (Canada) from December 2007 through June 2009.

The CPSC is advising consumer to immediately stop using the recalled Rossignol Cross-Country Boots and contact Rossignol to determine if the boots are included in this recall and, if so, to receive a free replacement or a refund. Rossignol can be reached, toll-free, at 1-888-243-6735 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time, at the firm’s Web site at, or via email at

Health Canada indicated that the recalled Rossignol Nordic Ski Boots were sold in Canada from December 2007 to June 2009 and imported by Groupe Rossignol Canada Inc. of Granby, Quebec.
