Trouble Minnesota Nursing Home Affiliated with Wisconsin Chain Accused of AbuseMay 28, 2004 | AP A Minneapolis nursing home being sued over abuse claims is affiliated with a Wisconsin chain of nursing homes that were also accused of abuse.
Attorney General Mike Hatch is suing the Concordia Care Center because he says vulnerable women were abused by sex offenders who were locked in the facility with them.
Concordia is related to Benchmark Healthcare, which was accused of neglect and abuse by the state of Wisconsin in 2002.
Two Benchmark homes in Milwaukee were taken over by the state after the company pleaded no contest to charges of neglect and sexual assault of patients.
Concordia officials have declined to comment on Hatch's lawsuit, in which he accused them of failing to protect vulnerable residents from convicted sexual predators who lived among them.
