Pella Architect Series Defective Windows. Pella Architect and Proline Series Windows are marketed as being resistant to extreme weather conditions, but many customers are finding that these windows do not live up to expectations. Despite Pella’s claims that the Architect and Proline 450 Series Windows are durable against harsh weather, moisture, mold, and mildew, customers have found that they are suffering from water leakage problems in their homes allegedly due to their Pella Architect and Proline 450 Series Windows. Allegedly, the claims Pella has made about their Architect Series and Proline 450 Series Windows are false and the homeowners only end up paying extra for a faulty product. Reports suggest that these windows were built defectively and do not perform as advertised.
Our firm is investigating legal claims alleging Pella Architect Series and Proline Series Windows are defective and do not perform as advertised. According to Pella’s website, the Architect Series Windows offer “outstanding resistance to extreme weather, noise and intruders due to their “HurricaneShield®” feature. Among other things, the company claims that the windows are protected from wind, water, and flying debris. Pella also asserts that their “EnduraGuard® triple wood protection” makes the windows resistant to damage from moisture, decay, stains from mold and mildew, and termite damage. According to consumers who purchased the Pella Architect Series Windows, these claims are false and the defects of the windows can allegedly end up costing homeowners a substantial amount of time and money to repair or replace.
Also according to the Pella website, the Proline 450 Series Windows “Resists fading and helps protect the exterior for years.” Pella also states that its “exclusive EnduraGuard® wood protection provides advanced protection against the effects of moisture, decay, stains from mold and mildew–as well as termite damage.
Despite Pella’s claims about quality, reports suggest that the windows are susceptible to water intrusion (water leaks) and wood rot. Consumers have alleged that the Pella Architect Series and Proline 450 Series Windows are vulnerable to water penetration in the window sash, leading to wood rot and window failure. Furthermore, customers have found that because of the aluminum cladding, the damage is often not visible until it reaches advanced stages. Wood damage that results from this alleged defect can force homeowners to have the entire window and frame replaced.
