When we look for a home, we are careful took look at locations that may be unsafe and unhealthy for our family. But no one ever thinks about living near a military base can be putting you and your loved ones in harm’s way.
Military bases all over the country are contaminated by dangerous and toxic chemicals and compounds. Whether it’s illegal dumpings, emissions, or viral compounds, a military base near your home can be very unsafe.
Another cause for alarm is possible contamination of the groundwater near a military base. If you happen to have a well on your property, you need to test whether your water is drinkable. Studies have shown that not only can your drinking water be affected, but contamination from military bases has even been linked to birth defects such as heart problems and anencephaly, a disorder in which the baby loses part of their brain or skull. It’s important to have your water tested to ensure the safety of your family and look into any possible contamination that the proximity of your house to the military base may have caused.
