FDA Issues Alert on Reumofan Plus Due to Potentially Harmful Ingredients
June 14th, 2012 tmccoy
Just because something is advertised as “all natural” doesn’t necessarily mean that it is. The FDA has just revealed that popular dietary supplement “Reumofan Plus,” which claims to also be a pain reliever, contains at least 2 prescription painkiller. This wouldn’t be as big of a problem, except for the fact that Reumofan Plus, which is manufactured in Mexico by Riger Naturals and can be found in many common retail stores, has billed itself as a “100% all natural dietary supplement.”
The product actually contains a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory called Diclofenac Sodium and a muscle relaxant known as Methocarbamol. These ingredients are known to cause heart problems, and have been found to increase the risk of a heart attack.
In addition, strokes are a common side effect, as is gastrointestinal bleeding, dizziness, drowsiness, and low blood pressure.
Users of the product are advised to keep themselves updated on all information on the product as it is released.
