If your child is being bullied, you may feel hopeless in stopping the harm. While schools all over the country are fighting hard to stop bullying, your son or daughter can still be seriously harmed by another student.
Bullying can come in many forms from verbal ridicule to severe acts of violence. But what most people – especially the person who bullies others – don’t understand is that these acts can have serious consequences and actually change one’s life. A minor black eye can actually result in possible blindness throughout time.
One option to bring a lawsuit against the student for the harm they have caused to your child. You may also sue the school as they may already have notice of this student’s previous events of bullying and failed to protect your child. In the state of New York, you have 90 days from the point of injury to bring a lawsuit against all parties. As any law, the 90 days you have may change so it’s important to seek the advice of an attorney.
