Although it is disturbing, more and more cases of nursing home abuse have been occurring. Your parent or loved one is probably elderly, making them very vulnerable and you need to know if they’ll be safe.
If an accident does happen, you need to question the nursing home staff to determine whether it was due to neglect or just part of your parent’s medical condition. Conditions such as bed sores and falls should never happen and are almost always preventable.
You’re going to need to question the facts of the accident to figure out what happened and how the accident or injury could have been prevented. The staff should be able to tell you how they can implement a safety plan that would stop your parent from being harmed again. You may need to become more vigilant in regards to your loved one’s wellbeing and make sure the staff knows you’re an advocate for them. Nursing home abuse takes many forms, but all of it is damaging in some way – emotionally, physically, or financially. Watch the video now to learn more.
