There have been many claims and lawsuits filed against the makers of prescription drugs Yaz and Yasmin as women across the country have suffered severe side effects.
The drugs are forms of oral contraceptives used for birth control. Yaz is the first drug in the United States to contain the progestin drospirenone. Drospirenone has had a lot of recent bad press as side effects are more severe than typical birth control medication.
Yaz and Yasmin have had repeated adverse events such as heart attacks, gallbladder disease, deep vein thrombosis, and pulmonary embolisms. Some cases have even resulted in death. Side effects caused by drospirenone increase blood levels of potassium, which could result in heart problems and other health concerns. The Food and Drug Administration has even stated that women using the drugs including drospirenone are at a 1.5 increased risk compared to birth control pills containing other progestin. These drugs pose a very harmful risk to women. Watch the video now to learn more.
