Camden Priest Charged With Sex Abuse. A former Roman Catholic priest of the Camden Diocese has been arrested on charges he sexually abused a child.

James Hopkins has been charged with aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

The alleged victim, Jonathan Norton, who is now 17-year-old, says he was abused by Hopkins between the ages of eight and 10.

Hopkins was banned from the ministry in 1995.

In 1999 Norton settled a civil suit against Hopkins and the Camden Diocese for $600,000.
