Mother Files Negligence Lawsuit Against Nassau County Jail

EAST MEADOW – The mother of an Iraq war veteran who hanged himself while serving jail time for a DWI charge has filed a lawsuit against Nassau County. Attorneys for Lilyann Ryan say Nassau County Jail was negligent for not supervising her son, Bartholomew Ryan. The lawsuit also says Bartholomew suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and was battling a drug addiction.
