EGL Motor ACE D110 Youth ATV Recall
WASHINGTON, D.C. – On June 2, 2021, EGL Motor Inc. announced its recall of the company’s EGL Motor ACE D110 Youth ATVs sold between November 2019 through February 2021. The ATV recall affects approximately 1,300 units. In a joint consumer warning, EGL Motor Inc. and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) warned purchasers of EGL Motor’s ACE D110 Youth ATV to stop using the recalled youth ATVs immediately. According to the recall announcement from the manufacturer, the recalled youth ATVs do not meet certain federal safety standards, and use of the recalled ATVs could result in serious injury or death.
The recall announcement states that the youth ATVs affected by the recall exceed the mandatory maximum speed limitations and poses a risk of “high-speed” accidents resulting in serious injury or death. The recall media release also states that the affected ATVs fail to comply with other “federal safety standard requirements for ATVs intended for use for children as young as six years of age.”
The recalled youth ATVs are designed, advertised, and marketed as ATVs for use by children ages six years old and older. Do youth ATVs were sold at dealerships, retail stores, and online. Motorsports, C&C Motorsports, Infinity Motors, Scott Millington Motorsports, S.B. Organization LLC, Arizona Discount ATV, Thrifty Scooters, and Wholesale ATV.
The media release states that EGL Motor Inc. Is working on a remedy and will notify the CPSC when the remedy has been produced to customers.
