Honda Talon 1000 ROV Lawsuits
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, American Honda has initiated a recall of 32,000 Recreational Off-Highway Vehicles (ROVs) due to accident and injury dangers. Honda announced its recall of 32,000 Honda Talon 1000 ROVs due to an intake funnel band screw defect. The funnel band screw could loosen and then enter into the engine leading to sudden engine failure. Should the engine fail, the ROV can lose control increasing the chance of accidents and injuries.
The Honda Talon 1000 ROV recall involves model years 2019 – 2021 Honda Talon 1000 S2 and S4 ROVs. The ROVs were sold in several different color schemes, including blue, red, gray, yellow, and green. The name “HONDA” is printed on the ROV’s sides, front, and rear. The word “Talon” is located on both sides of the ROV. The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) number is located on the left side of the frame under the left front fender. The VIN range for recalled Honda Talon 1000s is as listed below.

Honda has obtained 16 incident reports of intake funnel band screws falling into the engine causing engine failure. Honda has also received at least one report of an accident with injuries. Customers who have a recalled Honda Talon 1000 ROV should immediately stop using the recalled off-highway vehicles and speak to an authorized Honda Powersports dealer to arrange a free inspection and repair. Honda is notifying all known owners directly.
