Dodge Ram Windshield Wiper Recall
According to a recall news story posted on torquenews.com, Dodge has issued a Ram pickup truck recall to fix a dangerous windshield wiper defect. Dodge has already initiated a recall of its 2019-2020 Ram 1500 pickup trucks due to “loose windshield wipers.” That recall has been updated to include certain 2019-2020 Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty trucks to the windshield wiper recall. The recall also includes certain 2019-2020 model 4500/5500 Chassis cabs.
Ram has recalled some of its 2019 and 2020 model Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups and some of its 2019 and 2020 model 4500 and 5500 Chassis cabs.
The recall announcement states that fasteners or nuts that hold the windshield wipers can become loose. When the windshield wipers fail to operate properly, drivers could have difficulties seeing. It is also reported that the windshield wipers might not return to the rest position.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Safety Alert 22V-035, Dodge is not aware of injuries or accidents related to the defect. The technical language for the issue states that some Ram vehicles may have an “improperly formed wiper arm head joint.” The report states that the FCA US has pinpointed 679 warranty claims and 20 field reports related to the issue.
Owners may take their vehicle to a local Dodge dealership to have the windshield wiper blade nuts tightened, which will fix the issue.
