Ford Truck Brake Failure Accident Lawsuits
According to ConsumerReports.org, Ford has issued a new recall concerning SUVs and pickup trucks with 3.5L Engines. The recall announcement states that the safety issue involves brake fluid leaks. The brake master cylinder might let “brake fluid leak from the front-wheel circuit into the brake booster.” This defect could cause braking issues resulting in motor vehicle accidents causing injury or death.
The recall affects the following motor vehicles:
- 2016-2017 Ford Expedition equipped with 3.5L EcoBoost engines.
- 2016-2017 Lincoln Navigator SUVs equipped with 3.5L EcoBoost engines.
- 2016-2018 F-150 pickup trucks equipped with 3.5L EcoBoost engines.
Ford and Lincoln dealerships will fix the defect by replacing the brake master cylinder. If the master cylinder is found to be leaking, the dealership will replace the affected brake booster. All repairs will be performed at no charge.
The recall’s NHTSA campaign number is 22V150000. Owners should contact their local Ford dealership or Ford’s customer service for additional information. Ford’s recall number is 22S11.
