According to ConsumerReports.org, Ford has issued a new recall concerning SUVs and pickup trucks with 3.5L Engines. The recall announcement states that the safety issue involves brake fluid leaks. The brake master cylinder might let “brake fluid leak from the front-wheel circuit into the brake booster.” This defect could cause braking issues resulting in motor vehicle accidents causing injury or death.
Ford and Lincoln dealerships will fix the defect by replacing the brake master cylinder. If the master cylinder is found to be leaking, the dealership will replace the affected brake booster. All repairs will be performed at no charge.
The recall’s NHTSA campaign number is 22V150000. Owners should contact their local Ford dealership or Ford’s customer service for additional information. Ford’s recall number is 22S11. To see if your vehicle is affected by the recall, you may check on the NHTSA’s recall website and enter your car’s 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN).
