NASSAU COUNTY, NY – June 23, 2020 – According to an online news report posted on NewsDay.com, Nassau County law enforcement are investigating a tragic, fatal tubing accident that occurred on Father´s Day. The news report states that a 26-year-old woman from Baldwin, New York, was tragically killed this past Sunday in Oceanside, New York, after she was in an inner tube that was being towed behind a motorboat.
The boating accident report states that the inner tube accidentally struck a bulkhead and the impact caused fatal injuries. The inner tube accident happened in Parsonage Cove in Oceanside, New York, according to the Nassau County police. The Nassau County police reported that the incident happened at approximately 5:30 p.m. and the victim´s identity was reported. The Nassau County police reported the boat was being operated by a 55-year-old man when the inner tube crashed into a bulkhead at the Middle Bay Country Club in Oceanside, New York.
After the accident, the victim brought into the powerboat and the she was transported to Ann Street in Baldwin, New York. A Nassau County Ambulance crew met the people on the powerboat and transported the victim to a local hospital. Nassau County Police reported that the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital. The victim´s cause of death was death resulting from severe chest and head trauma. The police investigation into the tubing accident is ongoing.
