
Accident on the NJ Turnpike
STATEN ISLAND, NY – August 31, 2020 – According to an online news report on SILive.com, a fatal accident on the New Jersey Turnpike caused a few MTA express buses to be delayed on Monday morning. The collision on the New Jersey Turnpike is located near Exit 12. According to MTA, the MTA express bus lines affected included the SIM8, SIM8X, SIM22, SIM25, SIM26, and SIM30. These buses were rerouted through Brooklyn, New York.
Tragically, a woman was fatally injured, and one other was seriously injured during a collision between a van and a passenger in the southbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike in Middlesex County, New Jersey. According to the New Jersey State Police, the motor vehicle accident happened at around 5:50 in the morning near milepost 94.6 in Woodbridge near Exit 12.
The victim, a female riding in the passenger car, was tragically pronounced deceased at the accident scene. The other passenger, a man, was seriously injured, and he was transported by medical helicopter to the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital located in New Brunswick, New Jersey. According to Sergeant Lawrence Peele, a State Police spokesman, the man is being treated for accident injuries.
