Multi-Vehicle Accident Involving MTA Bus In Canarsie Injures Twelve

NEW YORK CITY, NY – August 14, 2020 – According to an online news report from CBS NewYork, a Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus accident with two other motor vehicles in Brooklyn resulted in twelve people being injured. The accident happened Thursday evening near Avenue M and East 87th Street in Canarsie, New York. The accident occurred after 6 p.m. Those who were injured were transported to local area hospitals, and the nature of their injuries was not reported. There has been no word on the cause of the serious motor vehicle accident.

Craig Cipriano, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Bus President, gave a statement about the accident. Mr. Cipriano stated that he was advised that an incident involving a B103 bus. He stated that the bus was hit by another motor vehicle in Brooklyn, New York. The bus driver was transported to a local hospital.

The new report claims the bus accident involved street racing and that three motor vehicles crashed into one another, and the MTA bus pinned one of the cars while bus passengers remained inside the bis. Eyewitnesses to the accident state that one of the drivers in the accident was lucky to be alive. The news report states that 12 people were injured in the accident, and two were taken to Brookdale Hospital.
