BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN, NY – According to an online news article posted on abc7ny.com, at least three passengers were injured when a motor vehicle allegedly drove through a red light and then crashed into a Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) bus in Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York.
The report stated that the MTA bus accident occurred around 3:30 am on Sunday. The MTA bus collision happened at the intersection of Rockaway Avenue and Linden Boulevard in Brownsville. The MTA stated that a car drove through a red light at the intersection and then hit the front left side of the MTA bus.
The impact force of the collision pushed the MTA bus up and onto a sidewalk. Law enforcement authorities stated that three people involved in the bus accident were injured. All three of the accident victims were transferred to the Brookdale Hospital. Family members of the accident victims raced to the bus accident scene and comforted each other.
The MTA bus driver was also injured in the collision and was treated for injuries. Two MTA passengers declined medical attention.
The MTA officials affirmed the MTA would be cooperating with the law enforcement investigation.
