PLAINVIEW, NY – June 16, 2020 – According to an online news article posted on Patch.com, a three-car accident injured four individuals. The accident also involved a police ambulance. The accident occurred on Monday, June 15, 2020, at approximately 3:30 in the afternoon. The news report states that the accident happened when a police ambulance struck a Jeep with such force that the Jeep was forcefully pushed into another motor vehicle, which was parked close to a strip mall in Plainview.
The Nassau County police and Syosset Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the accident scene located on South Oyster Bay Road and in front of the Plainview Shopping Centre. According to the news story, the police ambulance was in the process of responding to an emergency. The police ambulance had its sirens and lights activated as the vehicle crash into the Jeep and then smashed into another motor vehicle. The accident resulted in four people who sustained serious injuries, and the accident victims were transported to Nassau University Medical Center located in East Meadow. Fortunately, the early reports claim the injuries may not be life-threatening.
Portions of South Oyster Bay Road were closed for almost a half an hour while accident crews worked the accident scene.
