DIX HILLS, NY – June 22, 2020 – According to an online news report by NewsDay.com, a passenger was tragically killed in an auto accident. The accident report states that a Queens woman died after she was thrown from a motor vehicle as the car struck a tree.
The motor vehicle accident occurred west of the Northern State Parkway in Dix Hills, New York. The fatal accident occurred near exit 42 at approximately 7:55 p.m., according to statements provided by the police investigating the crash. The news report states that the female victim was 21-years-old. The victim was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital located in West Islip, New York. The woman tragically passed away due to her severe personal injuries, according to police.
The driver of the car, a 57-year-old man from Hempstead, New York, sustained non-life-threatening personal injuries. The 57-year-old man Hempstead man was driving a 2005 Honda Accord. The news report states that the man was unable to steer the car around a curve, and he lost control of the Honda Accord, and then the vehicle he was driving hit a tree. The man was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore to receive treatment for his injuries. According to New York State Police, the driver received numerous traffic tickets, including a ticket for aggravated unlicensed operation.
