
Northern State pkwy accident
HUNTINGTON, NY – June 18, 2020 – According to an online news report posted on NewsDay.com, a Smithtown woman was tragically killed in a two-vehicle accident on Northern State Parkway in Huntington, New York. The motor vehicle accident occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The location of the collision was on the Northern State Parkway, east of exit 42, and in the eastbound lanes of the parkway.
The fatal accident prompted the eastbound lanes to be shut down at Exit 42N. The lanes were closed until approximately 1:30 in the afternoon. Westbound traffic on the parkway was unaffected by the accident. The reason why the accident occurred is being investigated by law enforcement. New York State Police are requesting that witnesses to the collision to contact their office at 631-756-3300.

This translates to 697 traffic-related injuries requiring emergency room treatment per 100,000 New Yorkers. Females aged 20 to 24 had the highest rate of accident-related emergency room visits.
