NEW YORK, NY – According to an online news report on bxtimes.com, the NYPD responded to a fatal auto accident at the Bruckner Expressway. NYPD officers responded to the 911 call that reported an accident at Country Club Road and the Bruckner Expressway. The accident occurred at approximately 12:39 in the morning. When law enforcement officers arrived at the accident scene, they observed a man motionless and unresponsive. The driver was also pinned inside of their motor vehicle. The car was located on the entrance ramp to the Bruckner Expressway.
Emergency Medical Services also responded to the accident scene and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
A preliminary accident investigation ascertained that the victim was operating his Honda Civic northbound along the Bruckner Expressway at an alleged high rate of speed. The driver may have swerved out of the way of something or someone, or he lost control of the vehicle. The car then hit a jersey barrier and then flipped over onto the entrance ramp near Middletown Road. The vehicle then hit an unoccupied tractor-trailer trailer truck that was parked along the street.
NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is currently investigating the fatal accident to ascertain what transpired. The area has a history of severe accidents. Back in 2020, a vehicle accident took place on the Bruckner Expressway and took the lives of two people.
