Fatal Two-Vehicle Accident on Long Island
LONG ISLAND, NY – A news story posted on dailyvoice.com reports that a fatal accident occurred on Lakeland Avenue at Marconi Avenue in Ronkonkoma, New York. One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash that happened overnight in Ronkonkoma. The Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives stated that their officers are investigating the motor vehicle accident.
According to the accident report, a 25-year-old woman from Whitman, Massachusetts, was operating a Chevrolet Cruz west along Marconi Avenue when the car was hit at the intersection of Lakeland Avenue by a Honda 300EX quad that was heading north. The second vehicle was being driven by a 21-year-old man from Bohemia, according to Suffolk County Police. Lakeland Fire Department took the victim to the Long Island Community Hospital. The victim tragically passed away at the hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
The report states that the 19-year-old brother of the victim was driving a Honda 400EX quad to the left of his brother at the moment of the accident. He was able to avoid the crash and was not hurt.
Accident investigators are asking for witnesses to come forward and provide information regarding the collision to the Fifth Squad. The accident is currently under investigation.
