NASSAU COUNTY, NY – June 1, 2020 – According to an online news report from DailyVoice.com, a serious accident with injuries occurred in West Islip on Long Island. The report states that the driver and his passenger were seriously injured in the motor vehicle accident. Suffolk County Police said that the investigation is ongoing, and the motor vehicle was impounded by the police as part of the investigation. Accident investigators will examine the motor vehicle for potential safety issues that may have caused the car to suddenly veer off the road, hit a tree, and cause severe injuries to the motor vehicle driver.
The accident occurred over the weekend on Saturday at approximately 11:00 p.m. in West Islip on Long Island. The accident news report states that the 65-year-old driver was heading eastbound along Route 27A in his 2001 Ford sedan. The car suddenly veered off of the road and struck a tree between Otis Lane and Admirals Drive East, according to the Suffolk County Police. The driver sustained severe personal injuries and was brought to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, New York, to receive emergency medical treatment. The 28-year-old passenger in the car was also transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center to receive medical treatment for his non-life-threatening personal injuries.
