STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — According to Silive.com, three vehicles collided at an intersection that resulted in minor injuries. Silive.com indicated that the accident happened in the Rossville neighborhood of Staten Island. A spokesman speaking on behalf of the Fire Department of New York told reporters that the time of the crash was 9:47 pm. No additional information became immediately available regarding the incident.
The FDNY spokesperson told the press that the three-car crash took place at the intersection of Woodrow Road and Lenevar Avenue in Rossville. The FDNY spokesperson said that at least one individual injured in the accident received treatment by medics and then transportation to Staten Island University Hospital for treatment of injuries described as minor. The FDNY spokesperson did not have any additional information to share about the injuries of the other two people reportedly hurt in the collision.
According to the New York Police Department’s Staten Island Collision Report for January 2019, several accidents occurred on Woodrow Road. The NYPD Collision Report indicates that two accidents were caused by driver inattention, one accident was the result of driver inexperience, police investigators cited as traveling at an unsafe speed as the reason for one accident, and the final accident was due to improper or unsafe passing. NYPD officers noted that two people involved in those five accidents in January 2019 on Woodrow Road resulted in injuries, none of which were fatal. No accidents were reported in January 2019 at Lenevar Avenue and Woodrow Road that required police intervention. A review of the NYPD Staten Island accident report reveals that no fatal accidents were reported at Staten Island intersections in January 2019.
Similarly, a review of the accident statistics generated by NYPD of bridges, highways, and tunnels in Queens does not show any fatal accident reports taken by NYPD in January 2019.
