Albany Police Cars Are Being Recalled By Ford Motor Corp. 35 Albany Police and Fire Department Cars are being recalled by Ford Motor Company. A defect could cause the cars to catch fire.
This 2004 Crown Victoria Patrol Car is one of the Albany Police cars that will be part of the recall. Ford has recalled more than 155-thousand Crown Vics specifically made to be used as police cars or cabs.
Reports Of Insulation In Dashboard Can Over Heat And Catch Fire
There have been reports of insulation in the dashboard becoming overheated, and catching fire, but not in Albany. Central Services Director Stephen Collier said “Well I don’t think we’ll see any major problem with them using the vehicle in service, because Ford will actually send out the recalls and we’ll schedule when to get them.”
Collier says the recalled Albany Police Cars should be fixed within the next two weeks.
Some of these same Ford Crown Vics were recalled last year, for cracks in the wheel hubs.
