Fatal Accident in Jackson Heights
According to an online news report on QNS.com, a 31-year-old man was tragically killed, and two others were injured in a car accident on Tuesday, June 30, 2020. The accident occurred early Tuesday morning in Jackson Heights, according to the New York Police Department. The two injury victims were transported to the hospital to receive medical treatment.
Accident investigators stated the accident occurred around 12:25 a.m. on June 30, 2020. The report states that a 31-year-old man was driving a white BMW 440 on 95th Street in a northbound direction. The accident occurred when the man allegedly failed to come to a complete stop and rolled through a stop sign located at the 35th Avenue intersection. The driver attempted to turn left onto 35th Avenue, and he was hit by the driver of a tan Jeep Grand Cherokee, which was moving on 35th Avenue in an eastbound direction, according to police statements. The NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad stated that the motor vehicle accident forces pushed the BMW into several parked automobiles.
Emergency medical service personnel located the driver of the BMW, and the man was unresponsive. The man was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst. At the hospital, the man was pronounced dead. A 27-year-old woman who was riding in the white BMW and the 30-year-old man who was operating the Jeep were both transported to the hospital. Both were injured, and both are in stable condition, according to the New York Police Department. The investigation is ongoing. The identity of the 31-year-old BMW driver has been withheld until the family is notified.
