NEW YORK – A news article posted on CBSlocal.com states that there have been reports of an accident that involved two NYPD officers traveling on the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge. Police are currently investigating an accident that a wrong-way driver may have caused.
The report states that the accident occurred along the exit ramp to Randall’s Island. The accident occurred at approximately 9 PM and involved two motor vehicles. Police reported that at around 9 PM, an NYPD cruiser was moving along the bridge service ramp when another motor vehicle crashed head-on into the police cruiser.
Two police officers were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening accident injuries. One officer sustained leg injuries, and the other police officer suffered neck and back injuries. The police are investigating what caused the accident.
