FLATLANDS, BROOKLYN, NY – A news report published on collive.com states that an ambulance transporting a 95-year-old woman was involved in a severe T-bone accident that caused one fatality and injury to nine other people. According to the NYPD, law enforcement authorities received a trauma call concerning multiple casualties harmed in a multi-vehicle accident in the Flatlands area of Brooklyn, New York.
According to the NYPD, the EMS ambulance was transporting a female patient who had a heart condition when the ambulance collided with a Nissan Maxima. The elderly woman, whose identity was not released, was tragically pronounced dead at a local area hospital.
The preliminary accident investigation concluded that the ambulance, which was moving against a “red” traffic light with its emergency sirens and lights turn on, hit the Nissan’s front bumper along the passenger side. The collision caused the ambulance to spin clockwise and then roll over onto the ambulance’s driver’s side.
While the ambulance was sliding on its side, it hit a third motor vehicle, a Toyota Camry, that was waiting at an intersection’s red light.
According to law enforcement officials, nine people were transported to local area hospitals where they were treated for injuries, including the six ambulance workers, the ambulance driver, the Nissan’s driver, and the Nissan’s passenger.
The news report did not report whether the accident was caused by criminal activity. The accident investigation continued into early Monday.
