
Fatal motorcycle accident
NORWOOD, NY – September 8, 2020 – According to an online article published on norwoodnews.org, a serious motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle occurred on Sunday, September 6, 2020, at around 12:30 in the morning. Law enforcement responded to the accident scene that was located at Exit 21 along the southbound side of Henry Hudson Parkway.
According to law enforcement officers who responded to the accident scene, a 55-year-old man was discovered lying in the road and was unconscious due to a severe head injury. The man was riding a motorcycle and was involved in a collision with another motor vehicle. The local EMS also responded to the accident, and tragically, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. The NYPD Highway Unit’s Collision Investigation Squad responded to the fatal motorcycle accident scene to perform their accident investigation.
According to law enforcement, the preliminary investigation results of the investigation showed that a car and the motorcyclist sideswiped each other while traveling in the same direction. The sideswipe collision caused the motorcyclist to lose control over his motorcycle, and then the man struck his head against the pavement, causing a fatal head wound. The other motorists remained at the accident scene until law enforcement arrived, and the police have stated that no criminal charges have been filed at this time. The motorcyclist’s name was not released, and the investigation is still ongoing to determine fault.
