QUEENS, NY – According to an online news report posted on nydailynews.com, a tragic motorcycle accident took the life of a 43-year-old motorcyclist over the weekend. The motorcycle accident occurred along the Queens Expressway early morning Sunday, according to police statements. The cause of the accident is still under investigation. However, it is believed that the motorcyclist crashed into a guardrail. Law enforcement accident investigators are investigating whether another vehicle potentially forced the motorcyclist into the guardrail, which is a common type of accident.
The victim was operating his 2017 Yamaha motorcycle westbound along the Long Island Expressway near the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway onramp in Maspeth, New York. The motorcyclist accident happened at approximately 12:00 a.m., according to the police. The victim then collided with a guardrail, and the accident caused the victim to become unconscious and unresponsive due to a head injury caused by the impact.
Emergency medical personnel rushed to the accident scene and transported the victim to Elmhurst Hospital, where he later tragically succumbed to his severe personal injuries. The victim is a resident of Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, New York.
