GARDINER, NY – June 29, 2020 – According to an online news report published on Patch.com, a New York City man died in a tragic parachuting accident. The accident occurred this past Sunday. According to the report, witnesses to the fatal parachuting accident stated that the man from New York City jumped out of a skydiving airplane at 14,000. At the time the man leaped from the aircraft, the man was wearing a parachute.
New York State Police stated that the 40-year-old man from New York City boarded a skydiving airplane at the Skydive the Ranch facility located in Gardiner, New York. The accident report claims that the New York City man jumped out of the airplane with another skydiver at approximately 14,000 feet. Witnesses to the fatal skydiving accident stated that they observed the victim leaving the plane, and he was wearing a parachute; however, the man tragically crashed into the ground of a parking lot located at the Gardiner Fire Department off of Route 44/55.
The man tragically died of his personal injuries, according to law enforcement investigators. The parachute the victim was wearing when he left the plane has not been recovered by investigators, according to police.
