Pedestrian Tragically “Crushed to Death” By a Semi-Tractor-Trailer Truck in a Manhattan Supermarket Garage

Fatal Accident at Super Foodtown
NEW YORK – A recent news article posted on nbcnewyork.com reports that a tractor-trailer truck tragically killed a 39-year-old man as it backed into a Harlem supermarket garage. According to the NYPD, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred just after 7 PM. The accident happened at the Super Foodtown market along West 145th Street.
According to the accident investigators, the victim was pinned between a parked trailer and the semi-tractor-trailer truck. Following the accident, the man was transported to a local Harlem Hospital. Unfortunately, the victim passed away at the Harlem Hospital.
The victim’s name was not made publicly available at this time.
The news report states that eyewitnesses stated that the victim was horrifically crushed as he attempted to guide the semi-tractor-trailer truck into the Super Foodtown market garage. The witnesses also stated that the victim was well-known around the neighborhood for collecting cans and bottles, and he frequently directed large trucks into the loading area for tips.
