
Fatal hit and run
BROOKLYN, NY – According to an online news report from 1010wins.radio.com, a man from Brooklyn has been arrested for allegedly hitting a pedestrian with his motor vehicle and leaving the scene. Tragically the pedestrian, a 29-year-old woman from Queens, died due to personal injuries sustained in the pedestrian accident. The fatal pedestrian accident occurred in Chelsea, New York, on Sunday.
According to the NYPD, the victim was attempting to cross “7th Avenue, at West 24th Street,” at approximately 5 in the morning. The driver, a 61-year-old man from Crown Heights, New York, allegedly struck the victim while traveling southbound on 7th Avenue, according to police. The driver allegedly fled the scene of the accident by turning onto West 23rd Street, and the driver continued to flee the scene. The NYPD stated that the victim was transported to Bellevue Hospital. The victim sustained severe body and head trauma and passed away due to her personal injury, according to the NYPD.
The driver was arrested and charged for “leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death,” according to the NYPD.
