BRIGHTON, NY – A news article posted on spectrumlocalnews.com reports that the Brighton police say that a fatal pedestrian accident occurred at the intersection of Highland and Council Rock in Brighton, New York. The accident occurred at around 3 pm. The police reported that the victim is a man in his thirties.
Police have found the motor vehicle involved in the fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident, but they are still looking for the driver. According to law enforcement investigators, the motor vehicle was found near East Main and Illinois streets in Rochester. The vehicle had damage to the front of the vehicle. Police are asking the public to come forward if they have information or home surveillance footage that can help law enforcement solve the case. The victim’s identity was not released.
Update: According to the Brighton police, the department has identified, arrested, and charged a three-time felon connected to the deadly hit-and-run collision. The police state that the incident was purposeful and not an accident. The driver, a 24-year-old woman, intentionally hit the victim with her car out of revenge for a robbery that had recently occurred at an East Avenue apartment complex.
According to law enforcement authorities, the driver has been charged with second-degree murder. The arrest report states that the woman raced out of the apartment complex in a Mercedes Benz and hit the victim at a high rate of speed while walking along the shoulder of Highland Avenue. According to Captain Mike DeSain, when law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, several thousand dollars were blowing around Highland Avenue.
