Actor Suffers a Traumatic Brain Injury Following a Hit and Run Pedestrian Accident on Upper West Side Avenue

NEW YORK – A news story on oxygen.com reports that a famous actress was attempting to crossing an Upper West Side avenue when she was struck by a scooter operator who purportedly drove through a red light and collided with her. The actress is famous for her roles in “Law and Order” and “Gone Girl.” She is in critical medical condition and suffered a traumatic brain injury during the hit-and-run collision in New York City.
The NYPD did not release the name of the actress due to the NYPD department’s policy to not make public the names of accident victims. A New York Police Department spokesperson did confirm that the victim was injured while crossing the intersection of Amsterdam Avenue and West 64th Street on the Upper West Side. The spokesperson stated that the victim was found lying in the road with severe head trauma. The spokesperson also stated that the scooter operator allegedly ran a “red light just before hitting the pedestrian and “knocking her to the roadway.”
The driver of the scooter then fled the accident scene. The accident investigation is ongoing.
The actor is in the Mount Sinai Morningside hospital intensive care unit and is being treated for a traumatic brain injury. She is currently in stable but critical condition.”
