Law enforcement officers are seeking information and tips leading to the arrest of the hit-and-run driving, which left the victim to die on the street.
The Fort Myers Police Department is looking for the hit-and-run driver who killed a 74-year-old male pedestrian. Police seized the Ford Expedition connected to the fatal accident after the SUV was found at the Parker Lakes neighborhood in South Fort Myers. According to Crime Stoppers, the agency received a tip that helped police find the suspect’s vehicle. Law enforcement officers believe more tips will come and help the investigators find the responsible driver.
Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is offering to award those who provide information leading to locating the hit-and-run driver.
The victim died when the Ford Expedition SUV driver struck him down as the victim was walking. The deadly collision occurred at the intersection of Carrell Road and Fowler Street. The driver allegedly continued to drive away after hitting the victim.
The victim’s family continues to grieve for the loss of their loved one, and they are desperate to find the individual who left their loved one on the side of the road to die.
The victim’s daughter stated that her family is heartbroken that the driver who struck their father do not stop to help. She stated that her father was kind, funny, caring, and was loved by many. The family asks the community to help find the hit-and-run driver of the Ford Expedition. Law enforcement stated that if the driver stayed and rendered assistance, the victim may have survived the accident.
