HEMPSTEAD, New York – June 15, 2020 – According to an online news report published on NewsDay.com, Nassau County police have reported that a man was struck and killed in a pedestrian-auto accident in Hempstead, Long Island, New York. The pedestrian accident occurred on Peninsula Boulevard, and the victim was struck by two cars, according to law enforcement. The victim has not been identified at the time of the news article publication. Police reported that the tragic, fatal collision happened at approximately 11 o´clock at night at the Washington Street intersection.
According to the news report and police statements, the victim was hit and killed when he was trying to cross Peninsula Boulevard. The report alleges that the man was hit by a northbound Toyota Camry that was being operated by a 34-year-old man. The victim was then struck by a second motor vehicle, a 2012 Nissan Murano, which was being driven by a 54-year-old woman who was driving in the adjacent lane, according to law enforcement investigators.
Both motorists involved in the pedestrian accident remained at the scene and spoke with law enforcement. The police report states that the man was killed at the scene of the accident. The man died as a result of the multiple traumatic injuries that he received during the accidents.
Law enforcement is currently investigating the accidents, and at the time of the article´s publication, no arrests have been made.
