
East Flatbush SUV Accident
EAST FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN, NY – A news article posted on pix11.com states that a young girl was hospitalized after being thrown from an SUV she was riding during a collision with another SUV. According to the NYPD, the girl is in critical medical condition. NYPD accident investigators suspect the driver who caused the accident was driving while impaired. He is currently in police custody for suspicion of Driving While Intoxicated.
According to law enforcement officials, a 911 call was received at approximately 1 in the morning. The call reported a serious motor vehicle accident with injuries that occurred at the intersection of Kings Highway and East 92nd Street, in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn.
The news report states that a Ford Explorer was heading south on Kings Highway. As the Ford Explorer’s driver tried to make a left turn onto East 92nd Street, the Ford collided with a Range Rover that was heading north on Kings Highway.
Tragically, the 9-year-old girl was thrown from the Ford Explorer, and she sustained two broken legs and severe head trauma. The girl was transported to a local area hospital where she is in stable, critical medical condition. The three adult occupants inside the Ford Explorer, two 46-year-old women and a 28-year-old woman were taken to a local area hospital for treatment of accident injuries.
According to the NYPD, the Ford Explorer driver, a 53-year-old man, was arrested by police for suspicion of driving intoxicated and for illegally driving on a suspended license.
The Range Rover driver, a 40-year-old man, who was struck sustained accident injuries, but declined to be transported by ambulance. He received medical attention at the accident scene, authorities reported.
NYPC is asking for witnesses to contact them by calling visiting crimestoppers.nypdonline.org. The accident is currently under investigation.
