The 65-year-old female was attempting to cross W. 64th Street when a man on a red and black motorized scooter collided with her and then left the scene of the accident.
According to the news report, the victim was in a crosswalk and had the right way. The accident victim was quickly transported to St. Luke’s Hospital, where she is currently listed as in critical medical condition. According to the NYPD, the victim sustained a severe head injury.
The New York Police Department stated that the operator of the scooter fled the scene how long Amsterdam Avenue at W. 64th St. in Manhattan. The NYPD is currently investigating the tragic pedestrian accident and is looking for the suspect. No other additional information was provided at this time.
