Ford Recalling Its Vehicles. Ford Motor Co. is recalling nearly 260,000 vehicles, many of which were produced at its Kentucky Truck Plant on Chamberlain Lane in eastern Jefferson County.
The plant makes F-Super Duty pick-ups and Ford Excursion sport utility vehicles.
About 180,000 2004-2005 F-series Super Duty pick-ups, Excursions and Econoline vans equipped with 6.0-liter diesel engines were found to have a faulty fuel-injection control model that could cause the engines to stall while driving, said Dearborn, Mich.-based Ford spokeswoman Kristen Kinley.
Ford With Faulty Fuel Delivery Hoses
In a separate matter, Ford is recalling nearly 79,000 2005 F-Super Duty trucks with gasoline engines that might have faulty fuel-delivery hoses, Kinley said.
The fuel lines might separate at the connection to the main fuel bundle. This could cause poor performance, loss of fuel, and even fires.
No serious injuries or accidents have been reported as a result of either problem, Kinley said. She added that as a result of the two recalls, Ford also will recall about 30,000 vehicles in Canada and Mexico.
