Gorilla Grip Oven Liners Recalled Due to Carbon Monoxide (CO) Poisoning Risk

Title: gorilla grip oven liners carbon monoxide (co) poisoning

Carbon monoxide co poisoning

According to a safety recall notice published by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Gorilla Grip Oven Liners are being recalled due to a serious Carbon Monoxide (CO) poisoning hazard. The recall affects Gorilla Commerce’s heavy-duty oven liners. According to the CPSC notice, when the oven liner has not been configured or cut properly to fit the oven’s precise specifications causing the liner to block vents, carbon monoxide (CO) may accumulate, leading to an increased risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Approximately 1,600 units of Gorilla Grip Oven Liners were sold online on the Gorilla Grip web site and Amazon.com. The affected products were sold from June 2020 through August 2020. The cost of the Gorilla Grip Oven Liners was between $8 and $12. The Gorilla Grip Oven Liners are described as black fiberglass liners, and the package included three liners. The recalled Gorilla Grip Oven Liners include the words “Extra Thick” and “Gorilla Grip.” There is a gorilla logo printed on the liners and the exterior packaging.

The company has admitted that they have received at least one report of a purchaser’s carbon monoxide alarm detecting unsafe levels of Carbon Monoxide while using the recalled oven liner. The warning has not reported any injuries or deaths connected with this recalled product, but it is too early to know.

Keli New Materials Co of Zhejiang, China, is the manufacturer of the Gorilla Grip Oven Liners. SJL Company of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is the product’s importer. The product’s distributor is Hills Point Industries, “doing business as” Gorilla Commerce of Westport, Connecticut.

Customers are advised to discontinue using these recalled oven liners immediately. The company states that they have notified all purchasers, and purchasers may also contact the company directly for a full refund should a purchaser not be aware of the recall.

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a poisonous gas that is tasteless, colorless, and odorless. Carbon monoxide exposure causes serious illnesses such as headaches, dizziness, weakness, blurred vision, nausea, shortness of breath, vomiting, mental confusion, and death.
