BRONX, NY – July 8, 2020 – According to an online news article published on NorwoodNews.org, a multi-vehicle accident happened at the intersection of Bedford Park Boulevard and Jerome Avenue in Bronx, New York on July 5, 2020. The traffic occurred at approximately 1 p.m. on July 5, 2020. According to the Norwood News report, New York Police Department officers stated the accident occurred early afternoon but declined to provide a specific time in which the accident happened.
An eyewitness to the accident stated that he saw the accident as he was walking on the bridge that is over the Concourse Yard. The eyewitness stated that he witnessed a driver driving a silver Toyota moving swiftly through a traffic light, and then the witness heard a loud bang. The man ran over to the accident scene to see what happened. The witness stated that he saw one person who was injured in a blue Honda. The news story states that the blue Honda´s airbags were deployed on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
According to the news story, the witness stated that he witnessed the sliver Toyota striking other vehicles. The witness added that he felt the driver in the silver Toyota was speeding and that the intersection is very dangerous, and the driver should have stopped at the yellow light.
Emergency medical services responded to the scene of the accident and began treating the injured parties. Emergency medical services claim that two people were seriously injured and were transported to two different hospitals in the local area. Both of the injury victims are in stable condition.
According to the news report, a driver in their gray Nissan was hit by the silver Toyota. The driver is from New Jersey, and the man stated that he parked his Nissan on Jerome Avenue approximately 30 minutes before the crash.
The news article also stated that one of the motorists stated that they suffered an injury to their shoulder. Two motorists involved in the car accident argued which driver ran the red light.
